All three trails intersect in the middle of the forest so one can vary their rides. Weekend will see more hikers and trail runners, but its never crowded. Watch for ticks in the spring and when in doubt call ahead for conditions. 913-312-8833 (The park will close it if its too wet)
From the west loop of 435, exit on 87th st and continue west on 87th to the Shawnee Mission Park south entrance just past the baseball fields. Continue on Barkley Dr along the dam at Shawnee Mission Park Lake. Take a right on Martha Dr and park in the marina parking lot across from the tennis courts. One of 3 trail entrances is just west (left) of the tennis courts.
